When Gerrin Tramis was five years old, he sat at his great-grandmother’s coffee table in her northern Florida home and became completely captivated by drawing comic books and bringing characters to life on the page. That spark stayed with him, growing stronger through the years until the day he graduated high school on the outskirts of Seattle and committed himself to a lifelong career as an artist.
Gerrin went on to earn his degree in Computer Animation from DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington. Immediately after graduating, he joined Handheld Games—a studio specializing in family-friendly entertainment—where he worked as a 2D animator and scriptwriter for Nintendo DS titles and other consoles. Shortly after, he was published by Arcana Comics and contributed to multiple original properties for the Canadian-based publisher.
In 2008, Gerrin’s interest in scriptwriting deepened, prompting him to attend the Film School in Seattle and complete their intensive screenwriting program. After leaving Handheld Games and relocating to Los Angeles, he built a career as a freelance concept artist and illustrator, creating artwork for book covers, comics, films, animation, and various other projects.
In 2016, Gerrin returned to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to friends and family and to begin a new chapter—one that continues to nurture the same passion that first took root at that little brown coffee table so many years ago.
